A thousand participants from Belgium, France, Germany and Italy, converged on the village of the border entity to experience two days full of good humor. “We launched our event in 2019 as a schoolboy joke and we were very quickly surprised by its success, welcoming 1,200 participants during our first festival in Boussu,” explained one of the organizers David Hubert, who uses the pseudonym Edgar Funkel. “There are a thousand of us this year in Audregnies and our hairdressers have not stopped making or redoing mules!”, he enthused.

The Mule Cup Festival is organized alternately in Belgium and France. The European Hair Championship, which is in its fourth edition, this year rewarded a duo composed of Bérénice, 44, and Samuel, 46, better known to their fans as BesaMulet.

“They are quite a sunny couple, full of love and kindness, like the message we want to convey. We are here to have fun, in a spirit of celebration, of music, of second degree,” concluded Edgar Funkel.
