Vernon: a movie evening to help little Octavia, 3 years old, suffering from cerebral palsy

What if you made a canvas for a good cause? Friday May 29the local association Un pas avec Octavia is organizing a special evening with the Vernon cinema (Eure). The movie The Scammer*, released on April 22, will be screened at 8:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a cocktail reception at 7:30 p.m. This evening at the initiative of the Vernon jeweler and new member of the association, Christophe Bossard, aims to collect donations for the support charge médicale of Octavia, 3 years old, suffering from cerebral palsy.

Finance a new walker

What big prematuréethe little girl quickly suffered from bleeding in the brain which subsequently caused cerebral palsy. The latter cannot walk without her walker and has motor skills problems. The little girl suffers from stiffness, particularly in her legs. She needs injections to soften the muscles, allowing her to put her heel down and walk a little easier.

“We hope to raise 2,000 euros to finance a new walker. It must be changed regularly because it must follow Octavia’s growth.”

Also a member of the Lions club, the jeweler was made aware of Octavia’s journey. “I met his mother at my son-in-law’s birthday and I decided to join the association,” he says.

“Un vrai cocktail”

The latter then had the idea of ​​organizing a charity evening for the association.

“The Cerebral Palsy Foundation which supports research will also be present and will screen a short video before the film to explain this disease. Another video will be presented, this time to retrace Octavia’s journey since her birth. »

A way to raise awareness among spectators.

The foundation as well as the Un pas pour Octavia association will have a stand at the entrance to the cinema: “It will be possible to make donations directly to the associations. The cocktail reception costs 15 euros for adults and 10 euros for children under 15. The proceeds will be donated to the association and the foundation. It will also be possible to enjoy the film without having a cocktail,” he explains.

Furthermore, Christophe Bossard assures: “It will be a real cocktail and not just peanuts,” he jokes. A raffle will also be organized thanks to the various partners of the event.
