This time, it’s certain: Emily Cooper is really going to say goodbye to Paris. The streaming platform Netflix announced this Thursday, May 21 that the sixth season of the series “Emily in Paris“played by Lily Collins would also be the last.
Filming for this final season has just started, with a particularly busy schedule: after a visit to Greece, the series will set up its cameras in Monaco before returning one last time to “complete the loop” in the French capital.
It was Lily Collins herself who announced the news in a video that she published on her Instagram account in collaboration with Netflix and which you can see below. “After six unforgettable years playing Emily Cooper, I am here to announce that this sixth season will be the last”explains the actress facing the camera. She also promises “Everything fans love about the show†as well as“A final chapter in Emily’s adventure”.
The actress accompanied this announcement with an equally nostalgic message. “We’re back…for the last time“, she writes, before promising “one last epic adventure” between Greece and France.
Greece, Monaco then Paris
The creator of the series, Darren Star, also welcomed “the trip of a lifetime» after six seasons of this romantic comedy, full of clichés, which has become one of Netflix’s biggest international successes. In a press release released by the streaming platform, he added that “looking forward to sharing this last chapter» with the public.
During season 5, the series had already left Paris to take Emily Cooper to Rome, where the young woman was in charge of developing the Grateau agency. It ended with Gabriel set up on a Greek yacht as a private chef, who was ready to reconnect with Emily. In this new and therefore final season, Greece should therefore occupy an important place in the rest of the story.
