Ce Thursday May 21 at 7 p.m., the Le Puigmal cinema welcomes Maxime Rey who will present Leavehis documentary film which retraces the trip around the world by bike that he carried out over three years.
This film exchange organized by the Pyrenees-Cerdagne community of communes, celebrates the national event “May by bike”, dedicated to the promotion of cycling in all its forms. Through a three-year bicycle trip, Maxime Rey traveled around the world: 57,000 kilometers and 52 countries. From burning deserts to Himalayan passes, he crossed extreme landscapes and experienced unforgettable encounters throughout his adventure. With his bike, he takes the viewer on a quest for slowness in the heart of a hurried world, an immersion in humanity at handlebar height, in a universal human adventure: the discovery of the world and oneself, guided by a deep aspiration: to leave. “Spectators will dive into the heart of an inspiring human and cycling adventure, exploring new horizons with the strength of their legs,” explain Axelle Soubielle and Adrien Thillard from the intercommunality.
The session will be followed by a time of discussions and debates with Maxime Rey, “offering everyone the opportunity to share their dreams of escape, to discuss gentle mobility or to ask questions about cycling.”
