The REM festival celebrates its 15th anniversary, still in music and for a good cause

The Rémelfing en Musique festival is back this Saturday, May 23 on the Place du Château. This is already the fifteenth edition of this festival organized by the Rémelfing interassociation. Many groups will follow one another on stage. We take stock of the programming with Christophe Ochs, the president.

Sound No. 1 – The REM festival celebrates its 15th anniversary, still in music and for a good cause

At the head of the interassociation since last fall, Christophe Ochs was keen to preserve the Rémelfing en Musique event.

It’s true that for the municipality it’s something important. It was the initiative of Daniel Schmitt a few years ago and it gained momentum over the years and there was always quality. This year we tried to reduce the budgets a little, like everyone else, we look at expenses a little, but we managed to complete everything on time with a really nice program.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the St Pierre de Rémelfing fanfare followed by the cover group Intemporel of the young singer Giuliana Lo Sardo.

Then in the second part we will have a reggae group, it was a request from the public, with the group Myal, there are 7 of them on stage. Still to work on the Franco-German side, we also have TGB who comes from Saarbrücken, it’s rock. We will then have the group The Soul Hunters which has a slightly more jazz, funk atmosphere, to gain momentum throughout the evening. As we are celebrating 15 years this year we will also have DJ Fred Sons who will come and mix at the end of the evening so that people can come and party.

Plus de 35 000€ déjà reversés à l’association Agir Ensemble

A festive but also charitable event.

The goal of the festival is to be able to raise funds to donate part of the profits to the Agir Ensemble association which is chaired by Charel and which mainly purchases medical equipment for people suffering from cancer for the Robert Pax hospital in Sarreguemines.

More than €35,000 has already been donated to the association thanks to previous editions. See you this Saturday at Place du Château in Rémelfing. A refreshment bar and catering are provided on site. Entrance is free.Â
