On the occasion of the anniversary of the first screening of the Le Quercy cinema, inaugurated on May 10, 1947, the Clic-Images association is offering an exhibition at the Le Grand Palais cinema, a loyal partner.

Around ten photographers from the association were able to go behind the scenes of the old cinema, now closed but full of memory. From this immersion was born a series of photos combining documentary approach, play of light and sensitive views, restoring the entire atmosphere of this emblematic place of Cadurcian heritage and cultural life.

The exhibition pays tribute to this cinema through a selection of 18 photos: from the entrance hall to the balcony, without forgetting close-ups of the ornate doors, film reels and even a roll of “La Grande vadrouille”.

Freely accessible to the mezzanine of the Grand Palais, the exhibition is visible until the end of September. It also constitutes a foreshadowing of the Fest’images festival, territory of the world, organized by Clic-Images in Cahors from September 25 to October 30 around the theme: “Water, a treasure…”.

On the program: outdoor photographic tours on large tarpaulins, notably at the Gambetta college and Place de la Fontaine in Bégoux, as well as exhibitions at merchants and partners in the city center. A highlight is planned for September 25, 26 and 27 at the Bégoux village hall with an opening, an exhibition of more than a hundred photographs, portfolio readings and meetings. Photographer Alain Laboile will be the guest of honor.

Finally, on September 25 at 6 p.m., Le Grand Palais will screen the documentary “I am Martin Parr”, followed by a discussion.
