On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his first album, including the title Antoine’s rantings who made him famous, the singer with the floral shirts decided to record new versions of seven of his iconic songs as part of a new “anniversary” opus. On this one, therefore, appear The rantings, Another highway, Why these cannons, What’s wrong with me, An elephant is looking at me, Just a few snowflakes falling et I’m hitting the road again tomorrow. « These are songs that I wrote and composed when I was totally unknown. There was one that arrived, which was a great upheaval, which was Les élucubrations (…) but others who did not have their chance. So we’re going to give them their chance again! “, revealed Antoine, on the airwaves of Sud Radio, on April 14.
Years after being accompanied by a group that called itself The Problems, che who is also a seasoned navigator decided to give a clever nod to his past artistic career, by naming his new team of musicians The Solutions. On the cover of this record, which is available on the singer’s website as well as on listening platforms, we also see the evolution of the singer, with a photograph of him representing him in the 60s, attached to another more current one, signed by his wife Francette.

At the microphone of Jacques Pessis on Sud Radio, Antoine recalled the genesis of this musical project: “ It’s a pretty magical thing. I hadn’t planned on doing this at all. And then while trying to put away the hard drives, I came across a whole series of orchestrations that had been recorded for me, shortly before his death, by the orchestrator of my lifelong friend Jean-Daniel Mercier, who was the arranger of the songs with Les Problèmes in 1965. He had re-recorded new orchestrations for a ten songs of mine “, said the 81-year-old artist, before adding: ” I found musicians to supplement with acoustic guitars. »
The seven titles he re-recorded today did not enjoy the success expected at the time. With this anniversary album, Antoine hopes to restore their titles of nobility, as he explained: “ I would like that, sixty years later, these songs which had been a little erased by Les élucubrations, not that they would become hits but that they would please people“That’s all we wish for him!
