Before the big evening concert, it was the young people from the music school who were on stage at the end of the day. The Zozorchestra had invited the music schools of Saint-Trivier-de-Courtes, Sancé, Lux-Sevrey and Tournus for a performance of 70 musicians. A 12-movement piece was composed for the occasion and conductor Aude Bourgeois led this ensemble to the great pleasure of parents.
At 8:30 p.m., the Trombamania groups and the Brass band des Gênes took over for an evening dedicated to brass instruments. The trombone quintet captivated the audience, alternating between soft melodies and more technical pieces, allowing us to appreciate the dexterity of the musicians. The quintet, whose humor between the music touched the audience, multiplied the tributes to Gabriel Fauré, Jean-Michel Defaye, and even Joaquin Rodrigo with a marvelous cover of the Concerto d’Aranjuez.
The festivities continue this Friday with Australian James Morrison (concert starts at 8:30 p.m.).
Unfortunately, our schedules did not allow us to provide a report on the Brass band des Gones. Find all the photos of the festival on lejsl.com
