Artists often seek to create a connection with their community. But Adèle Castillon has just taken the idea a step further. In a video published on TikTok on Sunday, the singer said she experienced an unexpected moment during her recent visit to Switzerland, at the Balélec festival, which was held at the beginning of May on the EPFL campus.

“A few days ago, I went to play my first festival in Lausanne,” she explains.

On stage, she decides to test a previously unreleased piece in front of the public. “I was completely overwhelmed by the feedback on the song,” she confides, before sharing an excerpt of the title and the cries of the Swiss public. Rather than just cashing in on the buzz, the former Videoclub member had another idea.

“Suddenly, the moment was so powerful that I said to myself: But why not put the audience’s chants into the song?”

We then see the 24-year-old singer back in the studio, to experiment with this more “live” version, by directly integrating the energy and reactions of the audience into the final song.

Singer Adèle Castillon included her Swiss fans in a song after her performance at the Balélec festival in Lausanne.

His unpublished extract now seems to have found much more than a simple life-size testcapture d’écran: TikTok

After broadcasting a few minutes of extract from the song on her social networks, she asked her subscribers a final important question:

“I don’t know what to do, should I keep it or not?”

“Like that, there’s a piece of you in the song, what do we think?” she asks in the caption of the video.

For the delighted fans who attended the performance of Adèle Castillon, who was among the headliners of the Balélec festival, the answer is obvious: it’s a big yes. (mbr)
