As famous for his bloody strokes as for his talent, the enfant terrible of French tennis never did things by halves, neither on the court nor in his love life. From what we know, the tennis player experienced two highly publicized love stories who have profoundly marked his personal trajectory. Shy’m and Benoît Paire: a cult love story
It was in the fall of 2015 that Benoît Paire and the singer Shy’m formalized their relationship. For two years, the couple led a story relatively protected from media attentionpunctuated by tournaments and travel. “With my ex-girlfriend, our relationship was cool. She could travel, she was free from her schedule, we spent a lot of time together at tournaments”he confided to the magazine Society in 2019. Their romance experienced an incredible episode during the Rio Olympic Games in 2016when Benoît Paire is excluded from the Olympic village for having spent the night at the hotel with Shy’m, which earned him exclusion from the French Tennis Federation, which still waited for him to be eliminated in the second round to notify him of the sanction.
The breakup, in 2017, will be devastating. In the preface of the book Out! by Quentin Moynet, published in 2020, he writes: “The breakup destroyed me, I was still in love. I missed her a lot. Julie Bertin, the 2.0 meeting which ends in clash with Benoît Paire
Almost four years after his breakup with Shy’m, Benoît Paire finds love again in the arms of Julie Bertincandidate de télé-réalité connue pour sa participation à 10 Perfect Couples et The Villa des cÅ“urs brisés. A modern encounter: in an Instagram story from May 2021, relayed by PurepeopleJulie Bertin told her subscribers: “Welcome to 2021, the magic of social networks. Then we saw each other during my wedding dress shoot in Avignon and bam, it was Chocapic.” What had attracted her about the tennis player? Its “madness” : “Between weird people, we understand each other”she confided in this same story. The relationship lasted two years, until a breakup in the summer of 2022 which quickly turned sour.
In an Instagram story from July 2022, still reported by Purepeople, Julie Bertin publicly accuses her ex of infidelity : “I’m not a buffoon, even less when I leave time for the person to supposedly refocus on their sport, but they prefer to send DMs to all the girls and set them up on secret dates.” A few months later, in November 2022, she went even further by revealing private messages on Instagram and released a scathing barb: “If you don’t focus on my friends’ ass, you should focus on your career.” Since then, Benoît Paire has not found love again. At the start of 2025, questioned on the subject by his Instagram subscribers, he responded with his usual humor: “Even Ravioli (his dog) is looking for me, but still nothing.” Before specifying: “Be careful, that doesn’t mean I’m unhappy.” A heart to take, therefore, but in no hurry to give it to anyone.
