Like every year, the MET Gala takes place in the famous New York museum. This year again, the stars pulled out all the stops to stay within the theme of the evening: “Fashion is art”. They paraded on the steps of the museum before heading to the evening.
Every year, all eyes are on the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for a very specific evening, the MET Gala. This evening event raises funds for the Costume Institute collections, but it is also a gala renowned for being the most prestigious fashion event. Every year, the evening celebrates the theme of the exhibition which sets the tone for the guests’ outfits. For 2026, the theme was “Fashion is art”.
Celebrities tried to mix art and fashion in their outfits to climb the steps of the famous New York museum. Singer Sabrina Carpenter impressed by wearing a dress made from film stock, as did actress Sarah Paulson, who decided to wear a dollar over her eyes. This year, Beyoncé co-chaired the evening; she chose a shiny outfit with a crown and took part in the photographer’s game with her daughter, Blue Ivy, and her husband Jay-Z.
MET Gala 2026: French people on the red carpet
The MET Gala is a very selective event and only invited people can attend the evening. This year, a few French people had the opportunity to climb the steps of the museum. The stylist Simon Porte Jacquemus was present, he chose to wear an all white outfit. Léna Situations was also at the gala, this is not the first time she has participated and always impresses with her outfits. This time, she opted for a top representing hands and a blue skirt.
Another French celebrity was present, Charlotte Gainsbourg. Yvan Attal’s companion arrived on the red carpet in a black dress and took the time to smile at the photographers.

Among the guests, Rihanna, Hugh Jackman, Rihanna, Blake Lively and Anne Hathaway chose elegance. The singer Bad Bunny surprised by arriving dressed as an old man while Katy Perry chose to arrive with a silver mask. Nicole Kidman, Cher, Margot Robbie and Venus Williams also pulled out all the stops for the gala.
