Inspired by the melody “Inh La Oi” of the Thai ethnic group, “On the Windy Peak” is an attempt by Bac Tinh to integrate the sounds of the Northwest mountains and forests into modern rock. While “Setting Sail” carries the essence of folk music from southern Vietnam, this new song explores the culture of the mountainous region through characteristic musical elements such as traditional melodies, flute sounds, and catchy rhythms.

According to Tran Tuan Hung, musician and band leader, the piece aims to blend the power of rock with the delicate charm of folk music. The guitar and drums create a dynamic sound landscape, punctuated by engaging lyrics like “Inh la oi, Sao noong oi” – affectionate calls in Thai, evoking spring and community spirit.

Beyond its musical dimension, the song conveys a message of preserving national cultural identity. The group believes that, despite changing social contexts, traditional values remain a valuable source for reconnecting with roots and memories.

The show “On the Wind’s Peak” features singer Nguyen Viet Lam (vocals), musician Luu Quang Minh (keyboards, loops), talented artist Hoang Anh (bamboo flute), and percussionist Tran Xuan Hoa.

The music video, directed by young artist Ta Vu Thanh Nha in a rhythmic animation style, recreates images of Northwest Vietnam through various shades: from morning mist to golden rice fields, capturing the wildest moments of nature and creating a moving, emotion-rich image.

According to the group’s representatives, with “On the Wind’s Peak,” Bac Tinh continues its journey of integrating folk elements into rock music, contributing to the dissemination of Vietnamese cultural values among the younger audience.
