Joëlle Chalavoux and Anthony Chanaud, departmental advisors, have been holding meetings with the 83 municipalities in the Haute Vallée canton, the largest in the department, for five years. This week, they met with residents and elected officials from the small plateau in Galinagues. Mayor Patrick Emery warmly thanked the departmental advisors for their presence and work in rural communities that are being considered. Anthony Chanaud presented the department’s numerous and varied actions, including support for the investment projects of municipalities.

During this term, Galinagues has an ambitious project to renovate the streets and roads of the village. The department will provide financial support to the municipality to help carry out this project. The meeting also addressed the department’s assistance to help municipalities renovate old buildings and revitalize small communities. Joëlle Chalavoux also emphasized the necessary balance between essential forest exploitation and consideration of the costs of road repairs and other damages, including in villages. This approach would also help preserve essential biodiversity spaces and promote local employment.

It was a productive and friendly meeting attended by many residents as well as neighboring mayors from La Fajolle, Aunat, Belfort-sur-Rebenty, and Rodome.
