Straus Family Creamery has voluntarily recalled several ice cream flavors over concerns that they may contain metal shards. The recall affects certain flavors distributed to 17 states, including Arizona, Colorado, California, Connecticut, Florida, and others, since May 4. The company emphasized that food safety and product quality are their top priorities and are taking action as a precaution.

The affected flavors include vanilla bean, strawberry, cookie dough, Dutch chocolate, and mint chip with specific best-by dates. Customers who purchased the tainted desserts may not receive refunds but can apply for a voucher for a replacement product.

There have been no reported injuries related to the recalled ice cream. Other items pulled from store shelves due to safety concerns include date-sweetened chocolate bars and some varieties of Zapp’s and Dirty potato chips.

Straus Family Creamery advises customers to dispose of any affected ice cream cartons in the trash and not return them to the store.
