In Hanson, Mass., an officer from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department has been arrested and charged with various human trafficking and child rape offenses in multiple towns in Massachusetts, officials reported on Saturday. The Hanson Police Department initiated an investigation into numerous alleged sexual assaults and the production of child sexual abuse material involving a 15-year-old boy in Hanson, Halifax, and Middleborough, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
Following the investigation, a warrant for the arrest of 41-year-old Richard Kielczweski of Hanson was issued. He was apprehended by Hanson and Middleborough police late on Friday. Kielczweski faces charges in Middleborough for witness intimidation and enticing a child under 16. In Hanson, he is charged with three counts of paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18, two counts of child rape with a 10-year age difference, one count each of child rape with force, displaying a child in a sexual act, and trafficking individuals under 18 for sexual exploitation.
In Halifax, Kielczweski faces charges of two counts each of child rape with a 10-year age difference and paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18, as well as one count of trafficking individuals under 18 for sexual exploitation. The department expressed deep concern over the serious charges against Officer Kielczweski, and has taken swift action to indefinitely suspend him. Kielczweski joined the department as a correction officer on July 6, 2015, and had received recognition from the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program for his work in the greater Boston area during the 2024 holiday season.
Kielczweski is being held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Plymouth District Court on Monday.
