A resident of Prigonrieux (Dordogne) was robbed at gunpoint and held captive by two men on April 21, 2026 at his home. The criminals tied him up to steal Pokémon cards, causing a total damage of €300,000.
A robbery of unprecedented scale. On Tuesday, April 21, Myke Petel was attacked at his home. What the thieves were after? His collection of Pokémon cards, worth an estimated €300,000.
“I’ve lost almost everything. I have to start from scratch because some ill-intentioned individuals have taken everything from me,” lamented the Prigonrieux resident to Sud-Ouest.
Unprecedented for this type of loot
It all started when a man showed up at his door pretending to be a delivery man. In a matter of seconds, everything changed: the person brandished and pointed a gun at Myke Pete. In front of M6 cameras, he showed where he was and revealed being found tied up, with his eyes covered.
Myke Petel compares the scene to cryptocurrency-related robberies and kidnappings. “For Pokémon cards, to my knowledge, this almost never happens,” he added.
According to local press, an on-the-spot investigation has been entrusted to the Bergerac search brigade. Surveillance footage from outside Myke Petel’s home may help identify one of the two masked thieves.
