For this 6e edition, the event offers an immersion at the crossroads of flavors and words, in a friendly and festive atmosphere punctuated by a DJ set. Entry is completely free, and nearly 10,000 festival-goers are expected, as in 2025. Since its creation in 2018, Ici Vietnam Festival has brought together artists and creators of Vietnamese origin from France and elsewhere to showcase a contemporary scene nourished by the mix of cultures. The event is organized entirely by volunteers, in collaboration with the UGVF, Foyer Vietnam and UJVF associations, which bring together French people of Vietnamese origin and French-speaking Vietnamese driven by the desire to share their dual culture.
Indeed, dual culture manifests itself when we grow up or live between two distinct cultures, due to parents of different nationalities, immigration or bilingual education. It involves navigating between two languages, traditions, values and ways of life, often with a sense of partial belonging to each. Some describe this experience as “living between two shores”, where one sometimes feels like a stranger everywhere, but also able to benefit from multiple perspectives. Dual culture is a complex but potentially rewarding experience, requiring conscious adaptation and balance between the two worlds to fully benefit from it.
However, sometimes we have tensions. Then we can turn these tensions into strength and use dual culture as an asset to navigate different social and professional environments.
Perspectives
Participants in the Food Market and creative space will be very happy to demonstrate their knowledge and wealth to impact dual culture.
