Total Festum brings Occitan culture to life

Saturday June 20the Association of Beautiful Stories celebrates Occitanism in music with his first Total Festum made of dance, music, fire and conviviality.

The program begins at 4 p.m. with a bilingual French-Occitan walk on the Font d’Amans botanical trail with ethnobotanist Josiane Ubaud (duration approximately 2.5 hours, bring suitable shoes and water), go to the car park near the water tower.

At 7 p.m., the ball opens on the Place de l’Aire with Les Astéroides diatoniques, a Toulouse ensemble of accordions around a dance floor with an introduction to Occitan dances. At 7:30 p.m., Salvatjonas, Occitan vocal and percussive duo, followed at 9:15 p.m. by Olivier Samouillan solo (alto violin, mandolin, theremin), and at 10 p.m., the show Fahrenheita creation of fire, circus and juggling by the Cie de la Joyeusegravité which attempts to answer a question from Jean Cocteau: “If the fire burned my house, what would I take? I would like to take the fire. “From there is born a journey through our ancestral and ambivalent link to fire. Duration: 40 – 45 minutes, six artists, a poetic prologue and an incandescent finale.

Finally, at 11 p.m., concert Èdra (the ivy) with Aëlys Loddo (violin, viola, voice), Marou Thin (transverse flutes, hurdy-gurdy), Cédric Pierini (diatonic accordion) and Théophile Joubert (banjo, cello, voice). Four musicians in an intertwined universe create a new landscape, like ivy which anchors itself deeply while turning its leaves towards the sky.
