Zoom in on the details of the Mona Lisa or even tour around the statue of the Venus de Milo using digital technology. Micro-Folie will offer a unique experience to the inhabitants of the Cap Corsefrom June 18. Concretely, thousands of works will be accessible via digital tablets installed in different locations on specific dates. interactive and fun digital museum to be discovered in very high definition, also on a large screen but also through virtual reality headsets, in the Erbalunga village hall or the Centuri school, for example. This itinerant cultural platform serving Capcorsins is managed by the La Villette park located in Paris and financed by the Collectivité de Corse (CdC), the State and the community of communes of Cap Corse.
“Our population must have access to culture”
A position of cultural mediator, affiliated with the community of communes, was even created for the occasion. Anna Robert will be there to give keys to understanding the works to the public: “We want to open a window onto the greatest museums in the world, launches Patrick Sanguinetti, president of the community of communes of Cap Corse. We will be the first rural area in Corsica to benefit from Micro-Folie in roaming mode. Our population must have access to culture.”
This concept, which has existed for several years, is already present in ten municipalities in Corsica at fixed points. And it aims to expand to other micro-regions: “It’s a regional cultural network designed to get as close as possible to the inhabitants, details Roxane Gueguen, Micro-Folie project manager in La Villette. 6Â 500 cultural contents will be made available, from nearly 500 partner establishments. A Corsican collection will also be available on natural heritage and fine arts, through the Mediterranean center of photography, the Cap Corse Natural Park or the Palais Fesch. Corsica is one of the first regions to have brought together a regional collection. Beyond that, works from Quebec, the Louvre, Versailles and the Paris Opera will be presented.”
When digital “creates a link”
For this summer, Micro-Folie will visit eight towns in Cap Corse until August 6: “In a rural environment struggling with culture, it is very important to be able to support the villages, confides Anne-Laure Santucci, CdC executive advisor in charge of culture. Between the elderly and the children, it’s a little more culture for everyone.”
Led by the Ministry of Culture, Micro-Folie is already attractive for its interactive side but also its ease of use. For Arnaud Millemann, general secretary of the Haute-Corse prefecture, digital technology, sometimes wrongly seen as a tool of exclusion, aims, through this project, to “do you create the lien.”
