Saturday September 12, at the Bouyssou ski resort in Laguiole, the Aubrac en scène association wishes to honor the female forces of the region. To do this, several events will be organized, including a major concert which will highlight the voice of tomorrow. A major concert in tribute to Daniel Balavoine will close this day.

At the foot of the Bouyssou ski slope, in Laguiole, the eyes of the event organizers are turned towards the top of the slope, imagining the crowd who, that day, could take their seats to attend this great concert which would highlight female voices.

Saturday September 12, the Aubrac en scène association plans not only to highlight the talents of Aubrac, the voices of Aveyron, Lozère or Cantal, but also to associate this day with a concert which will undoubtedly leave an impression on the public. The organizers wanted to offer three events in one.

At the initiative, several mayors of Aubrac (Laguiole, Curières, Condom-d’Aubrac, Argences-en-Aubrac and the community of Aubrac Carladez Viadène communes) who therefore wanted to light their territory and in particular Simon Cros, the mayor of Cantoin. “I had thought of proposing this type event in my village before thinking that it would be interesting to extend it to L’Aubrac, but it is difficult to carry it alone, for a small town”, he explains.

So, the councilor approached the mayors of the surrounding towns to submit the project to them. All that was missing was one passionate person to make it a reality: Philippe Glorioso. Technician, sound and lighting manager, photographer, he worked with many artists and kept a well-stocked address book. “People who have been loyal to me for years because we have been able to forge strong bonds in an environment and it is sometimes difficult,” slips Philippe Glorioso.

“Create a true artistic moment”

So, this common desire to bring a region to life and to showcase its talents gave birth to the Aubrac fémina competition. A casting which will be based on two great works of the French-speaking musical repertoire: Starmania and Notre-Dame-de-Paris. A competition which “aims to identify, reveal and support local, amateur or professional talents”.

Ten voices will be selected: “They will be highlighted, staged, accompanied to create a true artistic moment,” explain the organizers.

“We can already imagine a substantial scene at the foot of the slopes, Philippe Glorioso envisions. A great showcase of what is best on Aubrac.”

The ten finalists, previously selected, will perform with a professional staging, around repertoires from Starmania and Notre-Dame-de-Paris surrounded by Claude Salmiéri, drummer of Céline Dion, Francis Cabrel, Julien Clerc and other renowned artists.

At the end of the concerts, only one voice will be designated. She will have the privilege of being able to go to Paris to record a duet with a professional singer, supervised by Pierre Jacquot, famous sound engineer (he mixed Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, etc.), and Claude Salmiéri, drummer and pianist. He will choose a title on the theme of Aubrac.

This major musical event will be accompanied by a spotlight on female entrepreneurship, a day designed to “honor women engaged in various fields: crafts, agriculture, culture, arts, etc.” Conferences and discussion times with participants are also on the program. The organizers have also thought of children with two shows for 2-5 year olds and 6-10 year olds, free for parents and children.

For now, the organizers are launching an appeal “to all women in the region who wish to get involved in this collective adventure”. An online questionnaire must be completed on the website https://aubracenscene.fr

A first step in an artistic journey that promises to be much bigger.
