the essential
For the first time, the RITE festival will join forces with  Formerly the Couserans by integrating artists from around the world into the heart of the big parade on August 2, in a strong gesture echoing the history of the Couserans who left in the 19th century for other continents.

For the first time, the RITE festival will join forces with that of Autreviens le Couserans to make the region a true crossroads of world cultures. This collaboration will result in an unprecedented participation of RITE artists in the big parade on Sunday August 2, echoing the history of the Couserannais who left, in the 19th century, for other continents to meet other peoples.

Light on traditional Pyrenean costumes

Also, throughout the festival, to highlight Pyrenean customs, a cross-border exhibition will extend that of 2025“By mountains and valleys – Brilliance and wonders of the Pyreneesâ€in partnership with the Basque company Maritzuli.

Presented at the House of Citizenship as part of the Citizen Council’s summer exhibitions, it will highlight the traditional costumes of the Couserans valleys and the two sides of the Pyrenees, with pieces from festivals, ceremonies and everyday life recreated for the opportunity.

A dozen decentralized shows

Finally, faithful to its DNA, the RITE festival will continue its work of dissemination in the territories, with a dozen decentralized shows in the villages of Ariège (Haute-Ariège, pays de Foix, Arize, Séronnais, Volvestre and Couserans), promoting direct encounters between artists and audiences.

City events will bring the festival to life on a daily basis, close to residents. On a practical level, online ticketing will be supplemented by a QR code control system, set up with the Couserans-Pyrénées Tourist Office, in order to streamline access to shows and improve the reception of the public.
