Until June 29, the Moulin de la Culture de Montbazens is hosting an exhibition of illustrations by Céline Patricio, an artist from Salles-Curan known under the name “Parpat”.

Always passionate about drawing, Céline Patricio studied art which led her to obtain a diploma as a ceramic decorator before turning to IT and graphics. Encouraged by an association organizing creators’ markets, she exhibited her works for the first time in 2023 and has since continued this artistic adventure through different events.

For three years, the artist has devoted himself fully to illustration and has developed a personal universe, both colorful, playful and imbued with poetry. “Each of my drawings tells a story,” she explains. His creations draw their inspiration from his daily life, his loved ones, meetings, nature and even his memories.

The exhibition presented in Montbazens is structured around two themes: digital art (with illustrations created on a graphics tablet featuring characters, animals and small scenes of life); and paintings on slate in which fruits and vegetables come to life in a fanciful and humorous universe. Among the works that are most dear to him are those inspired by his personal memories.

Through her work, Céline Patricio wishes to show that imagination and creativity are born from what surrounds us. His goal is to transform the small details of everyday life into visual stories and to give everyone the freedom to invent their own story based on his illustrations.

The artist is also developing new projects and wishes to explore other creative media. She is working in particular on a personal children’s illustration project, with the hope of one day being able to illustrate children’s books.

The exhibition is visible at the Moulin de la Culture until June 29, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with extended opening on Friday until 6:30 p.m., as well as Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
