On the occasion of the Rendez-vous aux jardins, the Jardins de la Fontaine are hosting this weekend visits, workshops and activities around the national theme “The view”.

Reading under the trees, observing biodiversity or drawing the light: the Jardins de la Fontaine invite young and old to take a new look at this emblematic Nîmes heritage during the Rendez-vous aux jardins. “It’s an event which aims to promote actions in the garden”recalls Michel Matival, head of the City of Art and History department. This year, the national theme “View” highlights perspectives, light and landscapes. Among the highlights, the guided tours “Ways of showing the garden”inspired by the staging of the gardens of Versailles, or the walks dedicated to biodiversity.

For the first time, a “turn over the library” settles in the temple of Diana, with deckchairs and books selected by the librarians of Carré d’Art. “We thus find the initial function of the building which was a library”underlines Michel Matival. Cyanotype workshops (old photographic process which allows a cyan blue print), light design with architect Vincent Andrieu, meetings with gardeners and an ephemeral garden complete the program.
