This summer, the Château de Fargues is once again opening its courtyard to the public with two free cultural events focused on music, discovery and conviviality. Between rock energy and Mediterranean travel, the program for June and July promises festive evenings open to all.

On Saturday June 6 at 9 p.m., the Nuit du rock will return to the Château de Fargues for a new explosive edition. Now well anchored in the cultural programming of Pontet, this event will highlight the local rock scene through three groups with assertive universes: Black Waffle, Umass and Sick my Duck.

A boiling local scene

The public will first discover Black Waffle, an alternative rock quartet from Avignon influenced by the great figures of the 1990s-2000s. Between the raw energy of Nirvana, the efficiency of the Pixies and the ambiances of the Smashing Pumpkins, the group develops an intense and authentic sound carried by original compositions.

The evening will continue with Umass, an alternative rock trio from the Avignon region. With a direct and effective guitar-bass-drums formula, the group boasts raw and energetic independent rock.

Finally, Sick my Duck will close the evening with a set inspired by metal and nu-metal from the 1990s-2000s. Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park and System of a Down nourish the powerful universe of the group, in a supercharged atmosphere mixing incisive riffs and communicative energy.

Each group will have around 30 minutes to seduce the public, invited to vote for their favorite group. The winners will win a studio recording session.

They have a Greek choir

Then, on Saturday July 4 at 9 p.m., the Château de Fargues will host Cabaret Kythira : Greek music and dancesan immersive and festive show inviting the public to discover all the cultural richness of Greece. Led by three musicians and five dancers, this evening will combine songs, traditional music and popular dances in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Kythira Cabaret will also offer a participatory moment at the end of the performance: the public will be invited to join the artists for a few dance steps and a time of friendly discussion.

Free and free entry.
