“It was a fabulous and unique experience.“ Catherine Pégard knows what she is talking about. Former journalist who worked for the newspaper Le Point or Europe 1 and today Minister of Culture, she spoke about the journalistic reflexes to adopt in front of 16 high school students.
On the occasion of the “Face the readers” organized by La Provence This Monday, June 1 at the newspaper’s headquarters, second and first year students from the Cité Internationale Jacques-Chirac in Marseille were also able to present their journalistic project, “Le Club Journal”. A project managed independently under the direction of their librarian teacher as well as their English, physics and cinema teachers.
High school students going against the tide of statistics
Around the table, the majority of high school students surprisingly do not raise their hands when we ask them the following question: “Who watches the news on social networks?” These students say they prioritize the paper newspaper, represented as a reliable source, synonymous with well-established in-depth work.
