Farms that become cultural scenes. This is the somewhat crazy bet imagined by the MJC Contre-Courant and the Meuse Chamber of Agriculture who together have a common desire to open farms to the general public to offer them unexpected encounters and with the desire to make people coexist “a living and accessible culture, an open and educational agriculture for a territory in movement”. After a first operation carried out in Mouzay at the end of March and which met with great success, the experiment continues in the North of Meuse with three new appointments made on May 29 in Montzéville for a folk blues concert, then on June 5 in Merles-sur-Loison, at the Franco-Luxembourg border for an electro-Pop poetry concert “Mira Cetii” and finally on June 12 in Montmédy for a French song concert “Moncha”.
Between pedagogy and meeting
Each time, educational times for schools are organized during the day, while live shows are accessible to the general public in the evening. With this unique initiative, the organizers are putting forward a collective project which relies on “actor farmers” for a rural territory, in this case the northern Meuse region which is coming to life. The festivities will continue in July and September in two other farms before taking stock during the last quarter of the year. The challenge is obviously to perpetuate this atypical cultural approach and to see it also develop in the south of the department.
