In July, the Aveyron driver will take part in a race with the French hopeful team before competing in two rounds of WRC 2.

The Rallye di Roma Capitale with the French hopeful team

It is a recognition that warms the heart and salutes long-term work. Recently selected within the French FFSA Espoir team, an elite structure which this year brings together four crews in Rally2 and two in Rally4, Arthur Pélamourgues is preparing to take on a major challenge: the Rallye di Roma Capitale, from July 3 to 5. This opportunity, made possible thanks to the joint support of the Federation, Hyundai and Michelin, represents a crucial step for the future of the Sébazacois. “It’s a badge that certifies that we have value and hope in this sport.”he explains.

Currently registered on the European Championship (ERC) calendar, the Rallye di Roma Capitale is preparing to reach a historic milestone by joining the WRC World Championship from 2027. On the Italian asphalt roads, the main objective of Arthur Pélamourgues will be clear: to collect as many kilometers as possible and of experience, facing a plateau which promises to be tough. “There will be the best Europeans and the best in the world”he slips. Above all, it will be about showing regularity and wisdom, without tempting the devil. This Roman meeting is thus the ideal springboard to prepare for future seasons at the highest level.

Confirmation expected in WRC2

Despite the excitement of this national selection, the course remains firmly maintained on the major project of its season: the rounds of the WRC 2 world championship in Estonia (from July 16 to 19) and in Finland (from July 29 to August 2). For Arthur Pélamourgues, who is doing his first year in this premier category of the promotion, the commitment is total and non-negotiable. Although closing budgets remains a complex exercise, the pilot wanted to clarify his intentions: “Whatever happens, our project is still the same, it’s Estonia-Finland. We are working on it, we are trying to finish the budgets which are very complicated, but we are going.”

These two events, renowned for the speed and extreme complexity of their dirt tracks, will provide a learning environment. The objective in WRC2 remains the construction of the future through total immersion against the best in the world. “The goal is to do these two rallies to gain maximum experience on these roads which are extremely complicated. You have to take the time to do it.” The month of July therefore promises to be particularly intense and decisive for the crew, determined to reach this global milestone in the most beautiful way.
