- Al Jazeera announced on Saturday that one of its journalists had been killed in an Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip.
- The Qatari news channel condemned in a press release “the deliberate murder” of its cameraman Ahmed Wishah.

“The cameraman of the Al-Jazeera Live channel, our colleague Ahmed Wishah, as well as two other people, were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a house in the center of the Gaza Strip”
said the Al Jazeera news channel, based in Qatar, on Saturday June 20, denouncing in a press release a “meurtre délibéré”
.

a military spokesperson told AFP. If he did not immediately provide elements in support of these accusations, the latter announced the subsequent publication of a press release “with more details”

Al Jazeera denounces Israeli “continued crimes” against its journalists
According to an Al Jazeera correspondent, the strike was carried out by a drone in the Bureij refugee camp, also injuring several people. The Qatari news channel also denounced “the continuation of crimes committed by the Israeli occupying forces against its correspondents and staff in Gaza”
stressing that Ahmed Wishah was the 12th Al Jazeera employee killed since the start of the war in October 2023 in the Palestinian territory.

Ahmed Wishah’s brother, Mohammed Wishah, was killed in April by an Israeli drone strike when he was a correspondent for the channel who was also killed in April by an Israeli drone strike. The Israeli army also accused him of being a member of Hamas, operating “under the cover”
