Since the end of the campaign, the tone has changed. Louis Sarkozy describes relationships « beaucoup plus apaisées » with the majority, citing as an example the decision of the mayor of Menton Alexandra Masson to entrust him with two marriages – a gesture which he wanted to salute publicly. He now claims an opposition of conviction and not of principle: “I object when I think something is unfair. But when it’s right, there’s no problem.”
Is this the end of political quarrels? Not so sure according to the son of the former President of the Republic. Having fun with the rumors that would send him to challenge Gabriel Tomatis for the chair député of the 4e constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes during the next legislative elections, Louis Sarkozy ironically stresses that the greatest electoral threat for the young parliamentarian would not necessarily come from him, but « de son propre camp ». According to “Some sources close to the National Rally”Louis Sarkozy affirms that the name of Jordan Bardella would circulate as a possible candidate in the constituency, in the event that the president of the RN does not succeed in winning over Matignon.
The municipal battle is over but the political game in Menton never comes to an end…
