The Alesian summer promises to be once again full of emotions with the new edition of Estiv’Alès, which offers more than 100 events, mostly free, from the summer solstice to the end of August. Between concerts, events, guided tours and festivals, the city will vibrate to the rhythm of an eclectic program, designed for all audiences.

Like every year, the Music Festival will mark the kick-off of Estiv’Alès. On June 21, the streets of Alès will come alive with concerts of all styles, carried by local artists and groups from elsewhere. An opportunity to celebrate musical diversity in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

The summer theme song

Beyond this traditional musical launch of the summer, in Alès as everywhere in France, open-air concert fans will have something to rejoice with Wednesdays in Vauban, which will be held every Wednesday evening from July 1 in the courtyard of the eponymous fort. On July 9, Vincent Niclo’s concert is expected not far away, at the Bosquet gardens, for a lyrical and popular evening.

The Cratère Surfaces festival, dedicated to street arts, will offer a special Basque Country weekend from July 2 to 4, with shows, dances and traditional music throughout the capital of the Cévennes. Organ enthusiasts can go to the temple and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste cathedral for the Organs en Cévennes concerts, scheduled for July 7, 16 and 21.

Another musical hotspot of the Alesian summer: the Tempéras arenas. The thousand-year-old venue will be transformed into a concert stage on several occasions during the summer, first with Les Fous Chantants, who will return for a tribute to Charles Aznavour on July 30 and 31, bringing together more than 1,000 singers led by Soprano. Then for the final of the Grand Prix de la chanson française on August 21, highlighting the talents of tomorrow.

A colorful summer full of evenings

But the Alesian arenas will of course keep their characteristic family and bullfighting spirit, by hosting toropiscines, but also the always awaited Entrevilles, a fun battle between the bullfighting clubs of the Cévennes basin on Wednesday August 26.

On July 14, it’s time for the traditional corso ‘Fantastic Parades’ and fireworks, followed by a special popular ball from the 80s and 90s at the Town Hall Square for the national holiday. It will also be about joie de vivre on July 21 and August 18 for the semi-final and final of the Humor Challenge, respectively at the Bosquet and the Espace Cazot.

Before that, Thursdays will be particularly lively in the streets of Alès, notably thanks to rue Soubeyranne, but also thanks to La Verrerie L’Été which will offer a fairground atmosphere on July 9 and 16, but also on the 17th. These circus activities will be followed by Youth Thursdays, July 23 and August 6 on the banks of the Gardon to cool off in the evening, between aquatic pool, inflatable slide and belly slide. The August 13 edition on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville will be more festive with, on the decks, DJ Antiyu, David Guetta’s foal. It is on this same square that the Miss Languedoc final will be held for the second year in a row, on Monday August 3. Ten young women will try to succeed Miss Languedoc 2025, Lou Lambert.

While Thursday evenings will spread across the city, Wednesdays will focus around the Abbey halls, with the new feature this year: Wednesday evenings around the halls. And of course, every evening and day until August 31, Alès Plage will remain a mecca for relaxation in Alès, between swimming, tapas, cocktails and restaurants, with your feet in the water or on the fine sand.

Culture and heritage

For history lovers, the little tourist train will offer guided tours of the city center every day from July 1 to August 31, departing from Place de l’Htel de Ville. Guided tours of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste cathedral and the Témoin mine will also be regularly organized, offering a journey through time to discover Alesian heritage.

August 15 will also be particularly imbued with history and heritage, between a gathering of vintage cars on Boulevard Louis-Blanc and an 80s concert at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville. As always to conclude the summer period, the Festival Ciné© été will take over several parks in the Alesian basin for open-air screenings from August 24 to 29.
