In an appearance on conservative commentator Benny Johnson’s podcast on Friday, March 27, Vice President JD Vance promised to carefully study the information held by U.S. authorities on UFOs during his term, stating his intention to “get to the bottom of the matter.” “I haven’t been able to devote enough time to it yet,” he explained, but assured that the topic “obsesses” him.

This move follows several statements from former U.S. presidents. In February, Trump mentioned his intention to request the release of government archives on aliens and UFOs, citing “a great public interest.”

This prompted a response from Barack Obama, who ironically claimed that aliens were “real,” although he had never seen them. Donald Trump, on the other hand, remained cautious, claiming ignorance of their existence and criticizing the disclosure of “classified information” by the former Democratic president.

An overtly religious interpretation When asked, JD Vance dismissed the extraterrestrial hypothesis. “I don’t think they are aliens. I think they are demons,” he declared. Having converted to Catholicism in 2019, he specified that he uses this term in its Christian sense, referring to “celestial entities” capable of unusual phenomena.

Despite these statements, there is no evidence to support the extraterrestrial origin of UFOs, now referred to as “unidentified anomalous phenomena.” In 2024, the Pentagon’s office responsible for these matters, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, stated that there is “no empirical evidence” to conclude that some “unidentified anomalous phenomena” are of extraterrestrial origin, or that the U.S. government is concealing such evidence.
