Toulouse will be the capital of human rights on June 20 and 21, 2026. The Pink City will host the annual general assembly of the NGO Amnesty International. Several speakers are expected to discuss the human rights situation in France and around the world.
This year, Amnesty International chose Toulouse for its annual general assembly of the France branch. Nearly a thousand activists from the NGO are invited to participate in the event, at the Pierre-Baudis conference center, or remotely, this Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21. On the program: conferences, working groups, walks in the Pink City to discuss the human rights situation in France and around the world. During this general meeting a new board of directors and a new presidency will be elected for the next two years.
Guests, including leaders from other sections of Amnesty International around the world, will share their experiences and their vision of the issues. This will be the case for representatives of Amnesty International Spain, United Kingdom and Tunisia.
The local Toulouse group will take the opportunity to raise awareness among the population about its actions. On Saturday, from 6:30 p.m., he will invite participants to stroll between Compans-Caffarelli and Arnaud-Bernard on the occasion of World Refugee Day, in partnership with Médecins du Monde and SOS Méditerranée. Sunday, at 3:20 p.m., a round table will close this meeting around the theme of the attack on the rule of law and how to resist.
