It seems a long time ago when Patrick Bruel electrified the crowds. Since a first complaint filed in 2019 by a young masseuse, testimonies and complaints against the singer and actor for acts of sexual violence are increasing. The accusations extend over a period of almost thirty years, between 1991 and 2019. Rape, attempted rape, sexual assault or harassment are notably denounced. On June 8, the case experienced a new development: the 67-year-old singer was placed in police custody. This was then extended in order to allow the continuation of his hearing by the investigators of the judicial police, within the limit of the 48 hours provided for by the procedure. The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office immediately indicated that two new complaints had been filed against the singer and actor. On June 12, while the ex-companion of l’écrivaine Amanda Sthersmy in exam, had returned to his hometwo new complaints were filed. “They will be probably very quickly investigated by the courts” said Jade Dousselin, their lawyer, on BFMTV this Tuesday, June 16.
“He’s someone I knew from the beginning”: what does Michel Drucker say about Patrick Bruel?
Present at the 65th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Michel Drucker was awarded a Golden Nymph for his entire career. On the sidelines of this event, he agreed to briefly answer a question about Patrick Bruel. Questioned by DH.net, the 83-year-old host, who suffered a spectacular fall during his stay on the Rock, quickly showed his limits regarding the subject of hot news: “It’s a subject that I don’t discuss”he explained, before justifying himself:“I won’t talk about Patrick Bruel because, first of all, he wouldn’t like it.” Dany Saval’s husband, however, spoke of the long-standing professional relationship he has with the singer: “He’s someone I knew from the beginning and for whom I have a lot of respect” he blurted out. The host of Roll on Sunday closed the subject by explicitly referring the file to the judicial framework: “And the rest is a matter for justice.”
A famous singer thinks that Patrick Bruel has “had to please so many girls that…”
If the friend of the stars refused to comment on the storm which hit the interpreter of the Café des Délices, others were much more talkative and less cautious. Guest on the setABC Talk TVsinger Dave agreed to speak about the situation of Patrick Bruel. With his usual frankness, the interpreter of Vanina expressed his disbelief at the accusations against the artist.“I think we have to make the difference between a rapist, who he obviously isn’t, and someone who perhaps thinks they are pretending to want to refuse” at-il déclaré. In the process, Dave also mentioned the context, and the singer’s great popularity with a predominantly female audience. According to him, Patrick Bruel “had to please so many girls” what certain situations could sometimes have been misinterpreted or ambiguous. Words which will reassure those who remain convinced that a plot would target the artist, but that will not support those who want women’s voices to be henceforth heard, and believed.
