The Jardin des Plantes d’Orléans (Loiret) is hosting a new edition of the traditional International Rose Competition of Orléans, whose 68th edition inviteslike every year, the general public to participate in the vote. The election will allow the rose bush to be awarded the “Public Prize”.
Between color, fragrance and resistance to disease… Make your choices…!
Installed in front of the greenhouse of the Jardin des Plantes d’Orléans, the device allows visitors to discover the 35 rose bushes in competition. The initiative is also accessible online, thus offering as many people as possible the opportunity to contribute to the selection of the winning rose bush.
The principle of voting is simple:
- Each participant designates three rose bushes in order of preference,
- The assessment criteria remain free and may include the scent, color, shape of the flower or even resistance to diseases.
The rating system assigns 4 points to first choice3 points in the second and 2 points in the third. At the end of the counting, the rose bush having accumulated the greatest number of points will be awarded the Public Prize.
A reward for the voter closest to the final result
Beyond the distinction awarded to the breeder of the winning rose bush, the competition also reserves a reward for the participant who proposed the selection the nearest of the collective final result.
The Public Prize will be officially awarded in September 2026 to the breeder of the winning rose bush. Voting on site or online takes place until July 15, 2026.
