Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. Discovering the cinema professions at Utopia

From June 29 to July 7, a discovery course in cinema professions is organized.

This initiative is part of a tradition of image awareness and cultural education. The Utopia cinema regularly develops activities around cinematographic techniques, meetings with directors and workshops intended for young audiences.

Beyond simple discovery, this course will allow participants to think about their orientation. There are many careers in cinema and audiovisual: directing, image, sound, editing, special effects, writing, production and even communication. For some young people, this first immersion could well give rise to vocations.

Throughout the workshops, the young trainees will be invited to work in teams to design and produce short filmed sequences. Everyone will be able to experiment with different roles: director, camera operator, sound recordist, actor or editor. A concrete way of understanding that cinema is above all a collective adventure where each profession plays an essential role in the success of a project.

A great initiative which demonstrates that cinema can be both a fantastic tool for artistic expression, a learning medium and an open door to many professions of the future.

Meeting with cinema professionals

The director, author and actor Stéphane Rideau as well as the cinematographer Clément Tijou. The participants of the course will discuss their professional experiences with them, then they will benefit from their advice on the filming of their short film.

Production of a short film with professional equipment

Participants have 6 days to create a film from A to Z (writing, filming, editing) which will then be screened in the open air. They will be supported by Les Réseaux Sauvages, a structure specializing in supporting artistic and cultural projects. €10 registration (6 days), open to 14-21 year olds.

Places are limited, registration is required: mediation-utopie47@orange.fr or PM on Instagram: @cinemalutopia.
