BENJAMIN POLGE / Hans Lucas via AFP Paris La Défense Arena, the largest indoor venue in Europe where Bad Bunny and Céline Dion are programmed, will be renamed Plenitude Arena from July 1st.
Inaugurated in October 2017 near the Arche de la Défense, in Nanterre, the performance and concert hall which also hosts sporting events was until now known under the name of Paris La Défense Arena. It will change its name from July 1, 2026, according to an announcement made by the Defense Arena this Tuesday, June 16.
As part of the signing of a contract with Plenitude, a subsidiary of Eni, an Italian energy giant, the name of this company was chosen to rename the large Parisian room which can accommodate between 30,000 and 45,000 people depending on the events. We will therefore have to get used to its new name shortly, since it will now have to be called the Plenitude Arena.

Naming, a marketing practice which allows a company to give its name to a sports venue or an event in exchange for a financial contribution, is not the only element announced in this partnership since Plenitude will also be the new electricity supplier of the venue. The precise amount of the contract, with a minimum duration of seven years, has not been given, but amounts to several tens of millions of euros.
Live Nation wants to acquire the Parisian venue
This announcement also puts an end to the previous naming contract which was signed in 2018 with the public establishment Paris La Défense, for an amount of 30 million euros over ten sporting seasons to boost the attractiveness of the business district. Paris La Défense still remains a partner of the venue, with a lesser commitment, until 2032, assured AFP Frédéric Longuépée, CEO of this temple of mega-concerts in the French capital.
In the coming months, other changes are still expected around the largest indoor venue in Europe since the venue, owned by the family holding company of Franco-Swiss entrepreneur Jacky Lorenzetti, has been the subject of a buyout since January by the company Live Nation. This operation, however, remains under examination by the Competition Authority.
Live Nation, an American giant specializing in the organization and promotion of shows and concerts and which notably produces Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny, is indeed eyeing this immense venue to expand its entertainment empire in France. With ambition, as the newspaper explained Les Échosto organize important artist residencies on the outskirts of Paris. On a model very similar to that which its competitor AEG chose to put in place for the return of Céline Dion to France. The Quebec singer is due to perform in Nanterre from September 12 for a first residency of 16 concerts at La Défense Arena in 2026. Correction: at the Plenitude Arena.
