From 2014 to 2026, first as a municipal councilor under Francis Juan and then Pascal Penetro, Isabelle Duquesne now holds the position of mayor in Fos. She was joined by Jean-Marie Mazzer as the 1st deputy mayor. For the past 22 years, Isabelle Duquesne has lived in Fos, a village not far from her ancestors’ land in Canejan. Today, alongside her team, she is committed to serving Fos and its residents.
What motivated you to run for mayor?
I have always been involved in both my personal and professional life. Leading an association, committing to a cause or issue is extremely motivating. Having been elected for 12 years as a councilor in my municipality, and encouraged by my fellow candidates, I took the leap. Being mayor is not an end in itself, it is about serving the residents with a competent and enthusiastic team.
What will be your first task?
We aim to work together as much as possible on various projects, this work has already begun. First and foremost, we want to assess the municipality’s finances. Social cohesion is important to us, and we are working towards reopening the village bar and grocery store.
What will be your guiding principle?
Rigor, transparency, shared governance, and direct democracy are our core values. With my fellow candidates, we have chosen to embody values of solidarity and respect.
What do you envision for Fos in the future?
Initially, we want to focus on enhancing our small heritage and beautifying our village, involving residents who are interested. We will pursue realistic projects within our financial capacity. Gradually, we hope to undertake more ambitious projects.
