Marianne Brandstetter, also known as “la Baronne”, has become more discreet in the media after bursting onto the scene in the early 2000s, notably in “La Ferme Célébrités 2”. However, recently, “Nice-Matin” has found the trail of the eccentric socialite who celebrated her birthday in Monaco, surrounded by high society.
You may have seen her in many shows in the early 2000s, from Tout le monde en parle and 20h10 pétantes to her unforgettable appearance in the second season of La Ferme Célébrités on TF1, alongside Régine, Jordy, Philippe Risoli, or Nathalie Marquay… But what has become of Marianne von Brandstetter, this self-proclaimed baroness who is both quirky and endearing?
Marianne Brandstetter celebrates her 90th birthday in Monaco: who were the VIP guests?
While she has been extremely discreet in recent decades, Nice-Matin has found Marianne Brandstetter. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo hotel in Monaco! Not surprising since Marianne Brandstetter reportedly resides in this exceptional hotel on the Rock.
For the occasion, the new nonagenarian was surrounded by the elite… Although Prince Albert of Monaco could not attend, he thought to send a “card of greetings and a large bouquet of red and white flowers”. Alexandre Ariel, the hotel’s general manager, and Victoria Barker, the director’s attaché, as well as the widow of businessman Michel Pastor (and stepmother of David Hallyday) Catherine Pastor, Princess Isabelle de Polignac, and Countess Bénédicte von Schönborn-Wiesentheid were present to see her blow out the candles, along with her famous friend, writer and journalist Henry-Jean Servat. The latter even shared some details about the exceptional evening.
What is Marianne Brandstetter up to now?
“Her first idea was to have a gigantic and magnificent sauerkraut prepared for all her guests, her favorite dish, but she wasn’t sure if this specialty from across the Rhine, which she adores, would appeal to everyone“, he first explained to Nice-Matin. So, the woman nicknamed “the baroness” chose a completely different, more sophisticated menu: “Eggs Benedict with salmon and a pumpkin soup as starters, followed by a grilled sea bass or a beef cheek with mashed potatoes and vegetables“. The celebration was a success, and “many toasts” were made in honor of Baroness Brandstetter.
In recent years, Marianne Brandstetter has split her time between Monaco, New York, and Miami, and has continued to participate in the social life on the Rock. In 2018, she even organized a sale of her belongings within the Fairmont Monte-Carlo hotel, with the profits going to the association “Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco”.
Marianne Brandstetter was the wife of aristocrat and businessman Frank von Brandstetter, who made his fortune in luxury hospitality and real estate. Upon his death, she inherited millions of euros. But the baroness also worked, as in her youth, she notably worked in the rough diamond trade in Africa, as she revealed on Tout le monde en parle.
