The Prime Minister of Pakistan claims that an agreement on a peace text has been “reached” between the United States and Iran. The tenant of the White House Donald Trump also assured Thursday that he had found a “very good agreement” with Iran,

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared this Friday June 12 that an agreement had been “reached” on the text of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

“We can confirm that an agreement on the final text of the peace deal has been reached and that Pakistan is now working with both sides to finalize the next steps,” Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X. “Peace has never been closer than today,” he said.

A little earlier, Iran itself affirmed on Friday that an agreement with the United States had “never been so close”, seeming to want to calm things down after a furious message from Donald Trump accusing Tehran of circulating a false text.

The agreement under discussion with Iran “included Lebanon”

After this announcement, Switzerland offered to host the possible signing of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran, the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs told AFP.

“Switzerland is fully mobilized. We are in close contact with the United States and Iran,” declared the ministry in a brief message sent to AFP.

Furthermore, a senior American official also assured that the agreement under discussion with Iran “includes Lebanon”, saying he was optimistic that the final result of the negotiations would also suit Israel and the Gulf countries.

Concerning possible reluctance on the Iranian side, he considered that they were “rather minimal”, judging that there was a “broad consensus” in favor of the agreement in Tehran, including within the Revolutionary Guards, among the “hardliners” and among the “authorities civilians”.
