For three days, the site Panoramic view of the Dômes transforms into a giant exploration terrain. Supported by the University of Clermont Auvergne, the festival Les Nuées Ardentes has found its uniqueness: bringing science and the arts into dialogue in a setting worthy of Jules Verne’s novels.
Amid improbable inventions, curiosity laboratories and open-air shows, researchers, artists and visitors share the same adventure: that of discovery.

A weekend of free entertainment
For this huitième éditionthe formula remains unchanged but is enriched with new proposals. The weekend of June 13 and 14 promises to be particularly busy with dozens of free events spread between the Foreuse, the Plaine des Jeux, the Cabaret and the Canopée.
THE scientific laboratories always constitute one of the highlights of the festival. The public will be able to go from the center of the Earth to the atmosphere, discover the mysteries of the magnetic field and radioactivity, explore the world of molecules, wonder about food and health or even embark on an astonishing expedition to the heart of algae.
Linguists from CY Paris Cergy University will offer play with wordswhile the University of Pau will invite visitors to slip into the shoes of archaeologists.

AI as a central theme
Among the notable new features of this edition, artificial intelligence occupies a central place. A unique exhibition will allow us to better understand its functioning, its uses and its impacts in our daily lives.
The subject will also be at the heart of the “Tea Time”an original event combining conferences, theater and music. Philosophers, management specialists or cognitive researchers will question AI through themes as varied as innovation, humor or artistic creation.
Another new feature noted, « Phytophonies »proposed by the University of Lille. This immersive experience invites you to discover the music produced by plants in an astonishing encounter between botany, physics and sound creation.

The beautiful part of the imagination
In terms of shows, the program gives pride of place to imagination and humor. The public will be able to attend the cartoon conference “Debunkage of the Three Little Pigs”discover « Wanted »an irresistible western parody, or even follow « Big Fish »a strange wandering boat.
Families will also find the musical tales of “The Great and the Other”the whispered stories of “La Machine à conter” or even “Siham and the space pizza maker”which combines astrophysics and adventure.
Music will not be left out. Saturday, the duo Tiny Shuttle will bring his sonorités pop-folk before an evening hosted by The Maulus Brothers. On Sunday, Victor Lee Gabriel will present his first album in the natural setting of the Canopy.
With its shows, scientific experiments, concerts and artistic installations, Les Nuées Ardentes confirm their ambition: to make research accessible to all without ever giving up poetry. An invitation to learn, marvel and dream, in the heart of one of the most beautiful landscapes in Auvergne.
