Guerlédan international tournament (U12-U13), this weekend
“We are aiming to at least qualify for the final phase,” announce the U13s from Stade Pontivyen who will be among the 80 U13 boys teams (224 teams in total with the girls and the U12s) wanting to lift the trophy for the 2026 edition of the Guerlédan International Tournament, whose finals will be played in Pontivy on Sunday.
Their record speaks for them: zero defeats in the championship, champions of Morbihan and third in the regional futsal final, and almost a record of nine out of ten regional tournaments won. Enough to still want to shake the nets during the international confrontations that are coming.
Some talents already spotted
Supervised by the young educator Enzo Pentecouteau and the experienced Frédéric Le Galliard, the team relies on a hard core of six players who have been together since their beginnings and to which a good group has been added over the last two years. “We’re pretty spoiled with this category. They are diligent in the exercises, know each other well and progress together. This is felt during matches. They have benefited from a framework structured for four years by Frédéric Le Galliard and Frédéric Conan. I benefit from the experience they brought to them,” comments Enzo Pentecouteau.
Some individual talents within the group have already been noticed: Clément Le Galliard and Paul Tilly were taken into the hopefuls center of the League of Brittany, in Ploufragan (22), for the start of the school year in September; Anthonin Stéphan and Marceau Le Goff are taken to the District sports section in Vannes.
“Un group pas facile”
But, for the moment, everyone only has the upcoming tournament in mind. “We are going to play on chicken day in Uzel. In a not easy group with Sporting Portugal, Saint-Nazaire, who were finalists at the Mondial de Plomelin, Octeville and the Breton clubs, we will already have to fight to get out. We are more than motivated to prove that the lost tournament, in the quarter-finals in Paimpol, last Sunday, was just an accident. The final is at home, at Faubourg-de-Verdun. We won the GSI tournament at Easter, the one at the Stadium on May 1st. We want to make three out of three in Pontivy,” says the group before going to train one last time. Enough to deserve a 10 out of 10!
