Legionnaire in the 1st Reg, Sergeant Rodrigo carries out his first signing session of his book “The Pains of a Happy Life”

After publishing his book “The Pains of a Happy Life” last April, Sergeant Rodrigo, mechanic with the 1st Reg (foreign engineering regiment) of Laudun-L’Ardoise, will hold his first signing session on Saturday June 13 at the Occitan bookstore in Bagnols.

A mechanic with the 1st Reg (foreign engineering regiment) of Laudun-L’Ardoise, Sergeant Rodrigo published his first book “The Pains of a Happy Life” last April. Two months later, he will hold his first signing session on Saturday June 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Librairie Occitane in Bagnols. Of Brazilian origin, the soldier looks back on his difficult childhood and the violence he experienced in his native country. “The story lies between the fragments of reality on my journey and intersecting lives. I have experienced so much, traveled a lot…”, he said before the release of his book.

Four years of work

A soldier engaged in the legion for 13 years now, Rodrigo Amorim passed through Nîmes, Aveyron and Mayotte before becoming a mechanic in the command and logistics company at 1is Reg, where he works in particular on griffins. Brazilian by birth, the mechanic took up the challenge of writing his first book in French.I don’t speak French as well as I write it. One of my friends, a French teacher, helped me a lot. She reread, made critiques… In total, Sergeant Rodrigo took four years to complete his work.
