The collaboration between NIC and CfE focuses on joint training programs for start-ups, organizing technological forums, thematic symposiums, and business creation contests.

The National Innovation Center of Vietnam (NIC) and the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE) at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) signed a memorandum of understanding on March 24 in Berlin to enhance bilateral cooperation in innovation, start-ups, and strategic technologies.

This agreement was signed by Vu Quoc Huy, director of NIC, and Professor Jan Kratzer, academic director of CfE. The initiative was put forth by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung during his work visit to CfE on March 23. Recognizing CfE’s expertise in the German entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Vietnamese leader advocated for strengthening cooperation between NIC and CfE to support Vietnamese universities, research institutes, and organizations in training and scientific research. The ultimate goal is to learn from proven success models to support the emergence of Vietnamese start-ups on the international stage.

In practice, the cooperation between NIC and CfE includes joint training programs for start-ups, organizing technological forums, thematic symposiums, and business creation contests. The entities also commit to facilitating the incubation and acceleration of businesses, organizing exchange programs for entrepreneurs, students, and researchers, as well as conducting applied joint research projects in mutually beneficial technological areas.

This memorandum of understanding paves the way for increased integration of the innovation ecosystems of both countries, allowing for more effective mobilization of expertise, technologies, and investment capital. This synergy is expected to accelerate Vietnam’s digital transformation and support economic development based on innovation.

Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) is one of Germany’s most prestigious technical institutions, known for its strengths in research, technological development, and sustainable development promotion. In the field of innovation, TU Berlin co-founded the “Science & Startups” network, a common platform comprising three major Berlin universities: TU Berlin, Humboldt University, and Free University of Berlin.

As a true catalyst, its entrepreneurial ecosystem supports around forty high-tech projects annually, leading to the creation of about ten viable enterprises through its ability to connect the scientific world, students, and investors. -VNA/VI
