Digital transformation is an essential trend, serving as a vital engine to renew growth models, improve governance, and enhance the quality of life. In this process, young people, with their knowledge, rapid adaptation to technology, and innovative spirit, emerge as a pioneering force. Whether it is supporting citizens in accessing digital services, promoting digital skills within the community, or fostering innovative entrepreneurship, Vietnamese youth actively contribute to anchoring digital transformation in everyday life.
Throughout Vietnam’s revolutionary history, young people have always been a vanguard force, taking the initiative in new missions and the most challenging areas. From the “Three Forwards” and “Five Voluntaries” movements during the struggle for independence to the “Young Entrepreneurs” and “Creative Youth” initiatives in the Renewal era, the pioneering spirit of youth has been a major lever for national development.
In the digital age, this spirit of engagement is unfolding on a new “front”: digital transformation. It involves more than just applying information technologies in management, production, or daily life; it requires a global shift in how society operates based on digital technologies. This demands highly skilled human resources capable of quickly adapting to technological innovations and ready to renew their ways of thinking — characteristics inherent in youth.
Young people’s involvement in digital transformation is evident on the ground. In recent years, in many localities, volunteer teams have directly helped residents access digital services and gradually become familiar with the digital environment.
In conjunction, the youth excel in innovation and technological entrepreneurship. Many projects led by young people mobilize digital technologies to address societal issues, ranging from e-commerce platforms to educational, agricultural, and digital management solutions. This dynamic contributes to structuring a rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem.
The Youth Union actively integrates digital technologies into its operations through data digitization, organizing online activities, and deploying digital communication campaigns, thus enhancing its capacity to mobilize and connect young people.
The digital transformation is a long-term process that requires the participation of the entire society. In this regard, young people should not only be beneficiaries but also creative actors and change agents.
The Youth Union, as a space for training and development, must continue to renew its actions in line with the national goals of digital transformation. The development of digital volunteering models, digital skills training, and youth-led projects in this field will strengthen their direct involvement in the country’s development.
At each stage of national development, new missions are entrusted to the youth. In the digital age, digital transformation is one of the areas where this pioneering spirit is most clearly expressed. Thanks to their skills, dynamism, and desire to innovate, young Vietnamese people are contributing to spreading digital practices, promoting innovation, and injecting a new dynamic into the country’s development in building a digital government, economy, and society.
