A resident of Souvigné-sur-Sarthe for two years, Clément Soulier is freelance IT developer. “Aside from that, I have always loved the world of video,” he confides.

Passion for pop culture

The other passion of the man who comes from Angers is pop culture. “It’s everything that’s going to be film, series, video games and nostalgia from the 90s-2000s.”

This is how with Florian Vernonliving in Orléans, they decided to launch a show dedicated to this universe. “We’ve always had this nostalgia for TV shows and a bit of talk shows. It’s true that it’s happening less.”

The program entitled Bento Pop, supported by a non-profit association, was thus able to see the light of day début 2026. “For the first six episodes, we did that at Souvigné.” Which shows for Clément Soulier that we “does not need to live Paris or in big cities to launch this kind of project.”

Clément Soulier, who has the necessary video equipment due to his professional activity, installed his set in the Souvigné-sur-Sarthe association hall.

Guests came from Le Mans or Paris to participate in the broadcasts which last on average 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.

During these, “we discuss various subjects, we start small debates. We discuss the guest’s profile, the latest news on series and cinema,” explains the man who is called, in the show, Squeezing (Japanization of Clément).

In Bento Pop, the Souvignéen is a columnist, but he also tries “to improve the technical aspect”.

Filming of the first season completed

After the beginnings in Souvigné, the members of the association then proposed the concept at pop culture events. They thus installed the plateau at theAngers Geek Festau Paris Mangaand even in Toulon for the show Mang’azur.

The filming of the first season, which includes 17 episodes, finished. The show is broadcast twice a month and the episodes can be found on the Bento Pop website, YouTube and on the various podcast platforms.

If the show is very young, “We have a great network, so we have already received guests who have several thousand subscribers, even 200,000 or 300,000.”notes the man who has been, since last March, an opposition municipal councilor in his commune.

The show, for example, received Julien FontanierJapanese teacher, but also Aurélien Cailloce, former host at LMTV and co-founder of the Memento media.

The film set to discover this Sunday

This Sunday, June 7, during the Souvigné garage sale which takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., it will be possible to discover “behind the scenes”, that is to say “how a podcast broadcast on the internet is put together”.

For the occasion, the Bento Pop tray will be installed in the association room.Â

If no program will be filmed that day, everything will be functional and it will thus be possible to discover “the management part and the stage part”.

This will also be an opportunity to discuss the latest news from the show, the second season of which will begin at Japan Expo and which will be broadcast from September.
