Outdoor cinema!
Film buffs and music lovers, the Canotiers festival is made for you. On the program: open-air concerts from 8:15 p.m. on the square in front of the Ménilmontant church. The evening continues at 10:15 p.m. with screenings of 1984, Thelma et Louise or even Persepolis. Enough to see or rewatch his classics.
In the same spirit, throughout the summer, the city offers a multitude of open-air cinemas, starting with the unmissable, at Parc de la Villette. The latter offers two free sessions per day, from Wednesday to Sunday. This 35th edition has the theme “L’appel de la forêt“. You can also enjoy the open-air cinema at the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac museum on the occasion of its 20th anniversary or the “Cinema on the roof” in the Montmartre district every Wednesday.
Relax at the Buttes-Chaumont park
Want to get some color? No need to go to the beach: the city is full of parks where you can relax in the sun. Like the Buttes-Chaumont, which is full of charm and pretty landscapes. With nearly 25 hectares of greenery, it is the perfect place, between a place of relaxation, mountains, rivers and ducks. One of the largest green spaces in the capital gives you the impression of being in an English garden.
Picnic on the banks of the Seine
In the same vein, nothing better than a picnic on the banks of the Seine to enjoy the long June evenings. Surrounded by the most beautiful monuments in Paris, such as the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower, sit on the banks with a well-stocked basket… and that’s it.
Free museums
If you prefer to cool off indoors, several establishments open their doors to you free of charge. The Zadkine Museum, near the Luxembourg Gardens, presents the works of this sculptor of Russian origin. Photographs, sculptures and tapestries of this emblematic figure of the School of Paris are exhibited in an intimate and soothing setting.
Not far from there is the Bourdelle museum, which is teeming with paintings, sculptures and graphic arts. For almost an hour and a half, you will immerse yourself in the heart of the world of this French sculptor who worked with numerous materials such as bronze or plaster. There is also a garden and various workshops ideal for children.
