During a press conference presenting the next season of TNS, the director of the only national theater in the region, Caroline Guiela Nguyen, underlined “the risk of seeing the worst happen“at the end of the 2027 presidential election and denounced”attacks on the functioning“and the”mission memes“cultural places. She lashed out “one of the great arguments which would be to say that our places would only serve an intellectual bourgeois elite“. “The whole of society gathers in our rooms”she defended, with supporting figures: “There has been more than 60% attendance in three years at TNS, more than 30% of our audience is under 28 and the presence of precarious people benefiting from social rates has tripled”.

The theater has also set up a surtitling offer for non-French-speaking audiences, making it possible to reach “an audience that was absolutely off the radar.” Next season, surtitling in seven languages ​​(Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Dari, Georgian, Turkish and Ukrainian) will be offered, a device which can be used on tour.
