A few days before the launch of the 2026 World Cup, the Moroccan selection continues its preparation with confidence. Opposed to Madagascar in a friendly match in Rabat, the Atlas Lions delivered a convincing performance, marked by a clear victory which confirms their rise in power before the world deadline.

A controlled victory in front of the Rabat public

At the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco won largely against Madagascar with a score of 4 goals to 0 during a friendly match as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup. Mohamed Ouahbi’s men quickly took control of the match thanks to a dynamic start and effective pressing.

Attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari particularly stood out by scoring a double in the first half, opening the score very early before doubling the lead a few minutes later. This offensive domination allowed the Lions to reach the locker room with a comfortable advantage and reassuring collective control.

Facing a determined Malagasy team but quickly put under pressure, Morocco continued to impose its rhythm, demonstrating defensive solidity and good ball circulation.

A conclusive test before the global deadlines

Beyond the result, this meeting represented an important test for coach Mohamed Ouahbi, who chose to integrate several profiles and observe certain associations before the big world meeting. Several players thus had the opportunity to earn points in the group hierarchy.

This victory also confirms the good momentum of the Atlas Lions, already authors of a great success against Burundi during a previous preparation match. At home, in front of a mobilized public, Morocco sent a positive signal regarding its level of preparation and its ambitions for the 2026 World Cup.
