This is often the argument for not coming to the cinema: the price of tickets. With an average of €12 per seat (normal rate at Pathé or CGR), many people do not need to be in the theaters, even if some reduced rates may be offered.
To fight against this phenomenon, three young people from Nantes decided to set up their start-up: Ozzak.
The principle: offer tickets at reduced prices thanks to a partnership with cinemas.“Basically, we are passionate about films. The idea came to us in 2019 when we went to see a big blockbuster and realized we were alone in the theater…says Sylvain Manté, co-founder of Ozzak.
Since 2022, the platform has collaborated with 90 establishments (including some in Belgium). In the list, no large multiplexes but only independent cinemas (arthouses, municipal cinemas, etc.).
And this May 21, 2026, the platform announced its arrival in the Centre-Val de Loire region with a partnership with the Cinéma Studios de Tours where it is now possible to nab cheaper tickets, going from €10 to €8.
But be careful, the opportunities are limited because only 10 seats per session can be booked at a reduced price via the platform. “It is the cinemas which choose the reduced price and the number of seats offered and they can change the advantages as and when they wish…explains Sylvain Manté, ensuring that Ozzak is paid based on the number of places sold via its platform.
For the Studios, this new partnership promises to be a real opportunity to expand its customer base. “We hope that this will open our cinema to new audiences, who may have preconceived ideas of arts and essays cinema…says Jérémie Monmarché, director of the Studios.
If for the moment, this partnership is the only one in the region, Ozzak’s objective is to expand across the territory including collaborations with rural cinemas, but not only: “We are not closed to the idea, later, of cooperating with big multiplexes…reveals Sylvain Mante.
