Recently, students from CE1, CE2, CM1 and CM2 classes at the Jeanne-d’Arc school in Naucelle took part in a school trip to Mèze, in Hérault, around the theme “art and water”.
This stay had a special dimension since Mèze is twinned with the town of Naucelle, thus allowing students to discover a territory linked to their town through historical and cultural exchanges.
This educational trip aimed to raise students’ awareness of the marine and lagoon environment, its biodiversity as well as the unwavering links between man and his natural environment.
Supervised by their teachers and several chaperones, the children took part in various activities organized with the CPIE Littoral Occitanie. The program included the discovery of fishing professions in the Thau basin, a visit to oyster farming at Mas Rouzières in Loupian, as well as several treasure hunts and workshops for observing the lagoon fauna and flora on the beaches of Taurus and La Conque.
Beyond scientific and cultural learning, this trip allowed students to live an enriching collective experience promoting autonomy, cooperation and living together.
The children came back very enthusiastic about this stay, with many memories and discoveries to share.
